Misty Asay graduated from Lone Peak in 1999. She was a three time state champion in track and was a part of Lone Peak's first state championship title in '99. She went on to run collegiately at both Brigham Young University and Weber State University. Misty was named Athlete of the Year her senior year at Weber State University. She currently holds records in track at both the high school and college levels. She was a three time conference champion and was ranked nationally in the indoor 60 meters.
Misty has been the head coach at lone peak for the past five years and teaching there for the past two. She spent her first four years teaching at Lehi high school where she was introduced to her husband Jason when one of her students set her up on a blind date with his older brother. (That student is now currently on the coaching staff).
Rod Jorgensen - Assistant
Steve Revelli - Assistant
Steve has been coaching track and cross country for 25 years. He has had the opportunity to coach region, state, national, and olympic champions. He has also been apart of 26 state championships between track and cross country. Steve is a masters level certified official for USA Track & Field. He also has the previlege of being an international official for the sports of bobsled and skeleton.
Tawny Bybee - Assistant
Tawny graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2004. Her senior year she helped the team re-write the record books when they broke 12 of the existing 15 records. She went on to run Cross Country & Track at Southern Utah University and BYU. She competed in the 1500 meter race through the 5000 meter race, but her main event was the steeplechase. She helped her team make it to XC Nationals both her junior and senior year at BYU. She met her husband, Dustin Bybee, who also helps coach the distance team, on a blind date at Southern Utah University. He convinced her to transfer to the Y to finish out competing. She competed in her first marathon last spring in a 3:14 and hopes to break the 3:00 barrier. Since graduating from BYU in 2008, Tawny has had a little girl, Maya, and is due to have a boy the end of the track season.
Derek Farr - Assistant
Coach Farr is now in his fifth year with the knights. He works primarily with the throwing events. He is a graduate of Wasatch High School where he was voted Athlete of the Year in 1985. He played football for Snow College where he was AllRregion Offensive Tackle. He was All Big Sky Conference Honorable Mention at Idaho State University where he graduated. Coach Farr has actively taught and coached in Utah for many years. He was the 2A coach of the Year in 1999 and 2003. He is married to Lori Farr and they are the parents of four children.
Deanna Meyer - Assistant
Coach Meyer is no stranger to coaching here at Lone Peak High School. Other than coaching track Deanna has been LP's head volleyball coach since 2002. Deanna has captured five state championship teams and has led the knights to seven consecutive state final matches.
Coach Meyer credits much of her sucess as both a teacher and a coach to the support of her husband, John, and her three daughters, Samantha, Emma, and Kaitlyn.
Egan Asay - Assistant
Egan Asay graduated from Lehi High School in 2008. He played and lettered in basketball, football, and track. In High School he was named the 2008 Marine Core Athlete of the Year. His junior year he placed 5th at state, then 9th his senior in the Men’s 110 meter hurdles. This is Egan’s first year coaching with the Knights.
Egan returned home this past fall from serving an LDS mission in California. He is currently single and hoping to one day find the right one :) He plans to attend Dixie and play basketball for the Storm this coming fall.
